The parish church of St. Michael and All Angels dates from at least the 12th century although some say has features that date it to much earlier times, possibly Saxon. The bell tower houses one of the oldest bells in the country, indeed possibly the second oldest. Early Medieval murals can still be seen in the Church and many of the fallen from the first Battle of Newbury in the 17th Century English Civil War are laid to rest in its grounds.

The Vineyard

In 2010 Mark Darley commissioned a detailed viticultural survey of a south facing field at the family farm. The survey came back with a glowing report: perfect slopes, great altitude and wonderful free draining soil.
