Our Classic Cuvée 2017 is here!

Our Classic Cuvée 2017 is here!

As promised, we are releasing our latest Classic Cuvée today!

It is our 2017 Vintage and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate the start of English Wine Week 2024 or to launch our new bottle label.

Classic Cuvée 2017 Vital Stats:

A spirited, dry sparkling wine, pale straw in colour with All Angels signature fine bubbles and length. Leading notes of softly baked pastry decadently followed by ripe citrus grove and orchard fruit with hints of spice. Serve as an apéritif and throughout the meal.

Chardonnay (60%) Pinot Noir (17%) Pinot Gris (14%) Pinot Meunier (9%)

From our vineyards in Enborne, Berkshire.
Harvested in October 2017.
Secondary fermentation 6 years on the lees.

ABV: 12%
Residual sugar: 5.47 g/L
Total acidity: 8.6 g/L

Matthew Jukes recently leaked the news of this release when reviewing our Classic Cuvée 2015 and, consistent with the praise he heaped and our philosophy, this release has also had the benefit of secondary fermentation in bottle far longer than the usual two year most producers adopt.  In fact it has had three times that length leading to a wonderful balance of fresh ripe citrus and orchard fruit with soft baked pastry aromas.

Yes, it has been released ahead of our Classic Cuvée 2016 as the 2017 vintage is bang on ready while our 2016 vintage is just getting better all the time.

In terms of profile, we place it between our award winning Classic Cuvée 2014 and Classic Cuvée 2015 wines and this is one you will want to enjoy with food.  Kay chose luxury fish pie and I chose partridge and wild mushroom risotto.
